This is the before shot of the Living Room. As you can see, they had a fireplace and built in shelves to start with.
We start with building the base cabinets of the entertainment center. We use hard maple wood so it is sturdy and will last a long time.
Next we add doors and molding to the base to get the feel of what the entertainment center is going to look like at the end. After they are fitted, they are removed for staining and will be placed back on during the installment.
Time to move up! Now its time to start the foundation of the shelving. The shelves themselves will be measured and painted and will be put in during the installment.
Now its starting to look like an entertainment center! The space for the T.V. is now built in and some extra storage above. Also the top and back are added to complete the foundation of the entertainment center.
After the foundation is completed you can start adding the small details the crown and the molding. After all the molding is finished everything is taken apart and stained.
We removed all the built-in shelving and fireplace. We also took the wall back to accommodate the new entertainment center. Then ,like in the build, we started from the base.
STEP 8: WIRING
As you can see, we are following the same steps as the build. Its best to do all the wiring for any electronics that will be on the entertainment center before adding shelves and doors.
We're almost done! Now it's time to put the shelves and doors back on. You can start putting all your things on the shelves and in the cabinets.
Complete the look with glass doors and lighting above the T.V. Now your custom entertainment center is completed and ready for you to enjoy!!
